Scheduled Layovers are those which are known in advance and are included in an Employee’s schedule. These
periods of time will be compensated at the rate specified in the Employee’s schedule.
[b]In the event an Employee is stalled due to an unscheduled layover, breakdown, weather, or delay of mail
delivery, the Employee will be moved by their Supervisor into a non-working time if appropriate. These periods

are unknown in advance and considered Unscheduled Layovers. The Company will deduct and exclude all
applicable meal and sleeping periods from the Employee’s payment during this time. Unscheduled Layovers will
be compensated at the rate specified below.
◼ 0 - less than 6 hours is $0
◼ 6 – less than 10 hours is $50
◼ 10 – less than 18 hours is $100
◼ 18 – less than 24 hours is $150
◼ 24 hours or more - $200[/b][color=red][/color]

Here Is the ? Supervisor puts you in a non working state while you waiting on a load ? Makes you wonder if your a new employee, or an employee, what happened to all ( On Duty Paid )_ We can tell you here that this is a problem [b]Especially with the VIrginia Harrisonburg office, Catch22.

Also note: By law if you are on the side of the Road you are broke down, you are considered (on duty) so the state of movement (off duty) would be considered to be a falsification of your log.

So therefore the company owes you the money! Do not go off Duty or have anyone tell you to go off duty, this is what the company will do and it is wrong! Contact Safety.


It includes all time you are
working or are required to be ready to work, for any employer. It includes the following activities:
• All time at a plant, terminal, facility, or other property of a
motor carrier or shipper, or on any public property, waiting to
be dispatched, unless you have been relieved from duty by the
motor carrier;
• All time inspecting, servicing, or conditioning any truck,
including fueling it and washing it at any time;
• All driving time, as defined in the term driving time;
• All other time in or on a commercial motor vehicle other than: (i)
Time spent resting in or on a parked vehicle, except as otherwise
provided in Section 397.5 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Regulations; (ii) Time spent resting in a sleeper berth; (iii) Up
to 2 hours riding in the passenger seat of a property-carrying
vehicle moving on the highway immediately before or after a
period of at least 8 consecutive hours in the sleeper berth;
• All time loading, unloading, supervising, or attending your
truck; or handling paperwork for shipments;
• All time taking care of your truck when it is broken down;
• All time spent providing a breath, saliva, or urine sample for drug/
alcohol testing, including travel to and from the collection site;
