An election was officially filed for the Newark and Kearny 10Rs yards. This is very exciting news!

However...on the same day the election was filed, the company let four employees know that their routes (and basically all their work) was going to be lost. We can thank the strength of a union Local who didn't think twice about offering to help these drivers get new work (and it was the bravery of these amazing drivers to not let this pull them down/get them down).
On a side note...the route that was pulled wasn't set to expire until 06/30/2025. The route was worth $12,434,950.55. $12 million dollars. It is one of the highest paid routes that 10Rs has. Does it make sense that they just let this route go? Where did all the mail go that was being hauled on this route? Mail didn't just stop coming, so who's pulling it now? Did 10Rs just give $12 million to another company?
